Altitude: varies from 500 to more than 1,500 meters above sea level (1,640 to 4,920 ft)
The San Salvador Volcano is the highest peak with an elevation of 1,960 meters or 6,430 ft.

Soil:
Alfisols, Inceptisols and Entisols.

Precipitation:
Varies from 1,800 to 2,000 millimeters annually, some areas receive almost 2,200 mm, with an average of 1,950 mm/year

Biological Characteristics

Main Varieties:
51.8 % Bourbon;
22.5 % Pacas;
25.7 % mixed Bourbon, Pacas and others.

Predominant Shade:
Ingas (Pepeto de Río, Pepeto Negro, Pepeto Cuadrado or Cuijing. Native shade is found in many fincas)

Harvest:
Lowlands: Between October and January.
Highlands: December to February.

Drying Method:
Both Sun and Mechanized methods.
